BMW R 1200 GS Adventure

Bike

A friend of mine is considering a motorcycle trip in South America. This is something that I would love to be part of. If I get an invite, I’ll get myself a tricked-out BMW R1200 GS Adventure. It won’t sound as good as my old Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, but it should be better in every other way, and better suited to the mission…

UPDATE: I’m in! Yes!!!

UPDATE Bis: My spouse gave her seal of approval. Game on!

DSI Pro 2 Analog Synthesizer

I just received my DSI Pro 2 analog synthesizer today. It’s a thing of absolute beauty, and the sound is incredible. Now, my workbench is cluttered with gear, but I’ll receive my custom-built shelving system next week, which should help organize everything. In the meantime, I’m working on the support infrastructure for this shelving arrangement, and it should be quite a blast: two Eurorack units packed-full of fat analog noise-making goodness. Stay tuned…

Leica M-P

In case you are not familiar with it, here is what a Leica M-P looks like in silver finish. The appeal is positively indescriptible. It is outrageously expensive, arguably clunky, and demonstrably antiquated, yet it is fantastic. You either get it, or you don’t. If you do, I am happy for you. And if you don’t, nothing to worry about: you are just being pragmatic, which is a good thing.

Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4

Of the few things I own, my Leica M-P is the one I am deriving the most enjoyment from. So much so that I have decided to invest my savings into the classic Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH. It was supposed to be released back in October, but it is not yet available. Waiting for it is actually quite enjoyable, and I am passing time with its 50mm sibling. Much like good wine, Leica is an acquired taste, but it is one that I would not trade for anything.
